I agree with Kirk.

true to my word, i gotta blog about this "I agree with Kirk" campaign. and please note that it is still november!! two blog posts in one month, wow. :)

anyways, just to give some background, Kirk Cousins is the quarterback on MSU's fooball team (go green!) and is also a strong Christian. so, Cru and other Christian organizations on campus partnered with him to do a campus-wide outreach during two weeks earlier this month. week one consisted of hanging signs literally alllll over campus saying "I agree with Kirk". the point was to raise curiosity and get people interested, but honestly it stirred up a little opposition too! but hey, that was expected. some people weren't sure if it was Kirk Cousins or what in the the world the flyers were talking about, and if anyone asked me, I told them to look in the State News the following Monday because Kirk explained in an article about how Jesus Christ is the foundation of his life. so awesome. :) during week two, Christians all over wore the same bright green t-shirt that said "I agree with Kirk" on the front, and gave event details on the back of when Kirk was going to share his faith and explain what this is all about in the auditorium for anyone to hear. we wore the shirts everyone... yeah. and i don't think i realized what a big deal this was going to be. i mean, there's no way to hide when you're wearing a shirt like that. i had a few random people ask what it was all about, and I was able to tell them that I agree with Kirk's faith in Jesus Christ, and that God is also the foundation in my life. then I could invite them to the event where Kirk would share more about it. so that was cool.

i was definetly stretched a lot in my faith... there's a verse in the Bible that talks about always having an response to the reason for the hope that I have, and honestly there hasn't been a time in my life before when I could share the reason for that hope on the spot.

the campaign is officially over, and i haven't pulled out my t shirt since that week, but it was just so encouraging to see that there are a lot of Christians passionate about making Jesus known here... i loved seeing other students wearing "the" t-shirt in my huge lecture halls, and while walking to class. :)

..in other more current news, happy Thanksgiving, friends!!
