not just an afternoon at Biggby.
yesterday, i went to Biggby with a friend. we chatted about everything: what's going on since spring break (the last time we connected), what's happening this summer, how's school, how's your relationship with Jesus, etc. ya know, all that stuff. well, as i was slurping the last bit of goodness out of my sugar bear grande (thanks Val!), a lady who was sitting close by turned around in her chair and told us she could tell we were Jesus-lovers. (those were her words-- love them). she went on to say that she just wanted to remind us how loved we are as daughters of God, and how he absolutely delights in us. she really emphasized that word... delights. it's like she just couldn't pass up the opportunity. it gives me shivers and makes my eyes tear up just thinking about it. she pointed us to Zephaniah 3:17:
"The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing."
she looked us in the eyes and smiled. then we thanked her, and her and her husband left Biggby.
Val and i just stared at each other, then said "how cool was that??" over and over.
i am so thankful for that woman at the coffee shop. how good to be reminded out loud that i am delighted in
